Vivaia has a large selection of shoes to choose from all of which are made from recycled plastic bottles and natural materials. I selected two pairs of shoes from their website and I’m going to be sharing my honest review of both. Let’s get into it…

My first impression upon receiving the shoes was how neat and natural everything was, from the packaging down to the shoes themselves. Everything is 100% recyclable, meaning the materials can be converted into other reusable materials.

Friendly Reminder: If you don’t plan to keep the shoe box, tissue paper, and other packaging materials make sure you place it in a recycling bin as opposed to tossing it in the garbage.

Inside the shoebox, you’ll find a message informing you how many plastic water bottles were recycled to create the shoes you’ve received as well as a card with care instructions. All of Vivaia’s shoes are machine and/or hand washable, environmentally friendly, sourced directly from nature, and carefully crafted to minimize their impact on the Earth.

I found both pairs of shoes to be very well-made, comfortable, and stylish. Below you’ll find my thoughts on each pair and how I styled them.

Chocolate Brown Boots – I’m wearing these boots in a size EUR39 and they fit true to size; close to a US8.5. These square-toe boots have a soft and stretchy sock-like material, a funky shaped 2.2″ heel, and they’re very comfortable and so easy to walk in. These shoes are hand-washable, made from 12 recycled plastic bottles, natural latex insoles, and carbon-free rubber outsoles. I chose these in the color Chocolate Brown, but they are more colors available in this style.

I think these shoes are so fashionable and chic! I can style them with so many pieces from denim, pants, skirts, and dresses. Their chocolate brown color is a great neutral for easy styling and they can stay in my shoe collection for years and years. I can see myself wearing these boots a lot in the fall and winter months.

Cream Ivory Loafers – I’m wearing these loafers in a size EUR39 and they fit true to size; close to a US8.5. These loafers have a classic silhouette, timeless style, and they’re incredibly comfortable and lightweight. The material of these loafers is stretchy, antimicrobial, and breathable so they’re the ideal shoe for warmer weather/climates. These are machine washable, made from 6 recycled plastic bottles, natural Artemisia Argyi herbal insoles, and carbon-free rubber outsoles. I selected this style of shoe in the Cream color because I love light neutrals for spring and summer. They are available in more colors.

I think these shoes are ultra-comfortable and so lightweight, it doesn’t even feel like I’m wearing anything on my feet. I appreciate that they’re antimicrobial and breathable because it gets extremely hot here in southern Texas during the summer months. I like that I can style these with absolutely anything because of their classic style and neutral color palette.

My overall thoughts and review of Vivaia and their footwear are genuinely positive. I think this brand is doing a great thing by being conscious of its impact on the planet and making efforts to be as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible when creating and designing its products.
